    Defence Standard Paints

    We are specialist coating experts who have plenty of experience under our belts when it comes to industrial coatings. We have created products that are approved to defence standards. Years have been spent to perfect them. Additionally, we have now introduced a new range of military coating standard paint systems in direct response to the introduction of Def Stan 80-225. The standard was introduced at the end of 2018. It replaces a series of previous standards: Def Stan 80-206, Def Stan 80-207, Def Stan 80-208 and Def Stan 80-209. Crucially, the products in this new range are free from Chrome VI and meet low VOC requirements.

     

    Def Stan 80-225

    “This is a sector in which our laboratory has been developing chrome replacement options for a number of years so we were in a good position to respond quickly to the introduction of the new military standard,” says Brian Norton, Indestructible Paint’s Managing Director. Def Stan 80-225 compliance has been designed for use with military vehicles and non-aircraft equipment. We can supply it in a range of colours specified by the military.

     

    A Range Of Different Options

    The military standard coating paint has a choice of primer and top coat options. These options make the system suitable for both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. We can supply the paint to provide either a near matt IRR or gloss non-IRR finish. You apply the paint with a spray system and the coating requires a simple drying stage.
