A light green, inorganic protective coating used as a barrier normally on Smoothcote IP9442 to give an ultra smooth finish. Smoothseal, seals any porosity within the sacrificial aluminium coatings that it covers and creates an electrically non-conductive barrier coat.

Description
A light green, inorganic protective coating used as a barrier normally on Smoothcote IP9442 to give an ultra smooth finish. Smoothseal, seals any porosity within the sacrificial aluminium coatings that it covers and creates an electrically non-conductive barrier coat. In addition, it results in a smoother harder coating which provides a barrier against carbon deposits etc, extending the useful life of the base coat and gives a smoother finish, which enhances air flow characteristics and therefore, engine efficiency.
When used to give an alternative system to Sermatech’s 5380 system, it is applied over specially prepared IP9442.
