IPCOTE COATINGS FOR AIRCRAFT ENGINES
We offer a range of sacrificial anti-corrosion coatings for aero engine blades, stators and hot-section turbine components operating at temperatures up to 650–700°C.
One example is IP9183-R1 Ipcote High Heat Resistant Sacrificial Aluminium Coating, which provides exceptional protection against salt-laden atmospheres, high-temperature oxidation, chemicals and abrasive environments.
At temperatures up to 700°C, the coating protects iron, steel, heat-treated stainless steel alloys, titanium and other metallic substrates from corrosion and oxidation. It can also be vibro- or super-polished, improving airflow efficiency within aircraft engines.
Complementing this technology, CFIpcote and CFIpseal represent the latest generation of chrome-free sacrificial coating systems, fully compliant with EU and UK REACH regulations. These coatings provide high adhesion, electrical conductivity and long-term corrosion resistance, matching the performance of traditional chrome-based systems while meeting modern environmental standards.
In addition, CFIPAL is a chrome-free, silicon-modified diffusion aluminide coating developed for nickel-based turbine alloys. Providing protection against hot corrosion and oxidation at temperatures up to 1000°C, CFIPAL is approved to OMAT 7/129B and delivers durable high-temperature performance across aerospace, industrial and marine gas turbine applications.
Together, these advanced coating technologies provide long-term protection, improved engine efficiency and environmentally responsible solutions for a wide range of aero engine and turbine applications.
We work closely with the design engineers of major aero engine manufacturers, enabling us to develop advanced aerospace coating technologies for the latest generation of aircraft engines, including geared turbofan systems and other next-generation propulsion technologies.
We also remain fully aware of evolving regulatory and environmental requirements. Our research and development team therefore continues to focus on the development of fully chrome-free coating systems that replicate — and in many cases exceed — the technical performance of traditional chromate-containing coatings.
